Egypt -Caire-Alexandrie- July 2021-3-3

I suggest these music albums or songs: to read my blog: legendary  Oum Khalthoum -Aywa Araby Egyptian -Egypt Nubin music-Ruby Hetta- Ramy Sabry -My favorite one for the moment while visiting I felt like this: the Queen of the street .....welcomed by everyone I met: album: Ancient Egyptian music Tomb of the ancients- and to finish out Wael Kfoury

First day
300 EP to get there
300 to come back

I went to the Bazar at night
woa that was so much fun
and went back to the restaurant because the doorman recognized me
the place was jam-pack
music singer
I had lamb shank and the best falafel in the world
so soft
Afterward, I shop and went back to the hotel
found a nice table cloth

superbe soirée dans le bazar

lovely meal again

lamb shank

the best falafel in the world

nice Egyptian. music singer and oud. Naguib Mahfouz café

Second day
I went to Alexandria with a flight attendant. it took us a lot of time to prepare our journey. No time table in English no return flight ....not user friendly when it come to plan a field trip.
hotel departure
7 a.m.
taxi ride
30 minutes to train station
bought ticket
8 ish departure from
Cairo to Alexandria
Taxi
200
200
ticket
100
90
600
70
80 80 80 80 for fucking tourist double the price
welcome bull shit here.
People pay to get all the way here a very expensive ticket $2,000.00
and to top it up we double the price because they  came all the way t9 your country  to visit
OUTRAGEOUS at the end.
ok
Let's forget about it and enjoy our day but not fare.

Our very nice driver Ramadan took us everywhere we wanted to go and we had a list.
The perfect driver of Alexandria #1
We arrived in Alexandria at 11.25 but did not have a sign saying I was in Alexandria snif snif

Ramadan our driver stopped to get us some water
my friend drank it
not me
but what a nice gesture!

We wanted to visit the library no foreigner
covid
no ticket sold out
it's not even 12 o'clock
Oh well... the first time I hear about Covid...

We visited
Roman pillar and
woa!
Just woa! I'm here.

 So big

all-around 360-degree view just like Volubilis in Morocco

little streets to go

Cat. getting in our taxi

well, it could have been written Alexandria in Arabic but how would I know as a tourist.

aoutch all in Arabic
welcome tourist....you could write us a mini sign in English

350EP in El Khalili Bazar further down the market 150Ep got to walk the town

The real Fati Mahmoud cup is light and delicate....finding one without a written Egypt on is hard. This is one of them.
We know it from Egypt with this exquisite style
no need to write down the provenance.

We check the timetable for the return.

On our way to the catacomb
woa
10 on 10
This was worth the 6 hours of train journey we made for sure.

so many ...

incredible

Did she moved or I moved hum! I was coming in this alcove didn't expect a statue to scare me like hell
it was kind of spooky to go down there.

we were deep down inside an amazing site discovered by a fallen donkey ...I heard by C.
I will check out the entire story later.

I was so happy to see this
I made it deep down I was happy I was with someone my fear was conquered.

another statue they fell almost alive.

why fill up the museum
let people come and visit them
now it's empty no fun but I can feel their presence.

bones

ils travaillent encore a répertorier les vestiges découverts.Incroyable!

The narrow roads we took were just a trip in itself.
Car street, furnisher street ...

In Volubilis Morocco similar roman stuff but it's amazing to see what a woman could do in those days besides pizza...everywhere they went they left something to remember. We can not say this these days.

but raté

Il s'est trouvé une petite place.

oh my it's hot
we need to go down to see it all ...no choice

our little taxi is making its way but too fast for a clear pic

il sort en courant avec une bouteille d'Eau hum!

Les rues sont tres étroites il faut attendre et attendre que ça débloque ...

beaucouup de Tuk tuk à Alexandria ces petites rues ont beaucoup de charme à voir absolument.

but
when I saw a dead horse in the garbage
I was just furious...
This is what happens when you are not in your country but this was just not acceptable to leave a poor working horse to finish this life in the fucking rubbish pulling people heavy load under an extreme heat
In Morocco, they have a law...not to abuse animals this way if I compare from 1 country in Africa with another.

sad.
So we continue our journey even if I wanted to stop. My coworker is tiny but can handle the heat and the rush pressure which is great. Someone tuffer than me.

The problem with Alexandria it is not a friendly tourist place.
no fast train
no English schedule
( English is the
traveler language around the world) that goes for Egyptians German Japanese... people if they want tourists...)
No return trip probably but I can not read Arabic the numbers yes but not the name of the cities
but coming to Alexandria is a must those who said it was ugly did not see what I saw I'm.glad I listen to my little self and that I share it with a friend too.
I believe it is the absolute trip to do for ruins goers
I recommend it for sure 2 days would have been better to enjoy the seashore...

So we were kind of rushing our journey to finish it before 2
3 o'clock
but then we said we will take the taxi back and finish everything.
So we went to see the Roman opera
nice, it reminds me of the one in Lyon.
but the sun was hitting me
and my cellphone was getting low
this is why I wanted to stop and change it but my colleague kept on going ( she used to walk very long distance Compostelle, Lisbonne to Spain on foot...) Oh well, there is so much I can do under this extreme sun but for me, to keep up,  I need to rest a few minutes drink a soft drink, and go on but this was not the case. I would have the wish to go in to charge my cell.
Go go go before we go back my body is ....falling down like those ruins....my cell has a low battery so I take pictures hoping it will show up good because I don't see anything in the sun.

Whatever luckily we had Ramadan our driver who said to us :  no rush there is a  train at 6
Youpi!!!!
So we went on rushing still because their stupid place always finishes too early 3 or 4 o clock.

(Even in our 4 stars hotel you can not go swimming at night
how stupid is that
this is when you want to relax after a harsh day under the sun.)

Whatever,  we kept on rushing to get a ticket
dam huge crowd
We had to budge in...no line-up
Where is Covid, distanciation in Egypt?
fuck
they believe it's not exist in Egypt;  right go on put your mask and budge in too

 La Citadelle

it's so old and so well kept

They spend the day inside like this.

 it has its own mosque

and no line for women
either
all like cows in a paddock
Dont they learn to make a line trace one on the floor
same foe traffic draw some line on the street less horn sound for god sake
before building a new city
fix the one you have and put some garbage bin for god sake
make people work in cleaning streets pick up garbage.
it's filthy everywhere shame in the government not having dump drunk
garbage bins every corner of every street
oh well
The castle of the citadel was amazing besides the garbage inside the windows...
I spare you from garbage shit hole and tried to show you the best that this country has to offer if only it was clean
they should even have police garbage
and why do sellers keep giving me a plastic bag
why
when I say that they laugh
piss me off
hard black plastic bags
They should have police plastic when they see a seller selling it in plastic bags
give them a fine
They have a huge police academy that makes them work
plastic and garbage

So after roasting in the sun we got inside the castle
it was so cute
every window in the castle was occupied by a  family a couple picnicking too cute but then they leave all their rubbish behind you to see what I mean.
Next, I needed to eat and drink something.
I wanted to go to the fish market
buy the fish and ate it

perfect we got to eat it near the water
they like it charcoal woa this is our order okay but the skin is so good when it's crispy it takes 4 minutes to cook a fish here it takes forever especially if you are a woman as men come and pass their order after you they will be served before you fuck fuck fuck
we are starving and we paid
next time I will pay after my order so if this happens again I will fucking leave
 our little magical taxi

Ramadan didn't want to share the meal he sat next to us and drink tea.

 geedeeup

 the furniture street

live chicken no covid here either

well, we were there but didnt see much too busy eating grilled shrimps and fish we went across afterward very pretty
Can not leave Alexandria without enjoying the sea view. Wish I had stayed another day and sail away.
I miss read the new discovery they did here it is underground
oh no I will have to go again...Inshallah!
swimming...looking for gold or a pharaon.

Gee seafood delivery on the shore I will know for next time...There you go Uber your competition is here!

cute couple

and we rushed again to get the train
yes someone took us the right way with a small token of appreciation
take them
bought ticket
bought some nice pastries for the train ride. Luckily for us, I follow a blue shirt and he took us upstairs to buy the ticket for our return that turns out to be cheaper than our way here 90 Ep save 10 Ep yeah  We have time to buy a little something I'm thirsty and hungry did not eat much of my shrimp as we rush to return brought them back tho
This way it's empty but our way is full all the Cairotes are returning back home this is a long holiday big mistake on y behalf but it's 8 days of  not 7 now

busy like in India There are people waiting on the second floor for this train as well. They rush down when they hear the train.

fuck we will never get on board

In a boiling hot oven, patient Egyptians await but when they want to get on board holy shit! They just go for it; babies or not they push and push like a stampede

Look how close they stand anyone can come and push them scary

a boiling oven so hot we went up again for a little while and I bought some pastries

the best time to take a picture and my cell is Kaput 15 %
doing what it can at this point
ok now this is our train yes or no they left with people sitting on each other
the door  could not close
pack of people
hanging outside
the people standing between wagon in the back of it too oh my god I finally witness an Egyptian train boarding just as good as India no killing there must be ....   woa this was incredible to watch
Incredible and that heat down below was like a cooking oven it was hell
 oh my god
I don't think my shrimps will be any good to eat after that oh my nice pastries with custard filling..........  kaput too                                                                      There is no information in English just like Tokyo not user friendly here
you need to talk to people right
a little Arabic help
I'm telling you because everyone knows they aren't enough space for all of us tonight  so you need to ask many people
strangers back off
well well I will show you my ways
Let's go in Cat or else we have to stay behind
ok said, my friend
push push push
we finally made it inside and in the right wagon
the right class with air conditioning
we sat down exhausted and happy.
A few seconds after  my friend read a few lines of her book and fell asleep right away...
It was an incredible journey  in Alexandria
I will go back to explore some more
I have to  see the beautiful library...and take the time to sit on the beautiful seashore or 50 km to see more ruins and beautiful beaches to the north
I highly recommend  Ramadan the Alexandria driver by excellence...in all the Mohammed, Ramadan is easy to remember.
I will finish the third day next time...hope you like it.

fast food is very clean

New Cairo versus Old Cairo ? I definitely pick Old Cairo over new Cairo. Ah!
