Sao Paulo nightmare 2020

Just before I left Montreal for Sao Paulo on my 10 hours flight, I had to shovel all that snow, 35 cm of snow, my computer got hack by our very own Microsoft and to mk it even worst I dropped my cellphone on the ciment.
No time o run to the stire, I had to leave for Brazil with my mom's cellphone o a 3 day lay over.

WE arrived in Sao like usual except for one thing the base manager didnt warn us about the flood.

The cellphone I had, had hardly any charge left.

Not even10 minutes into our bus ride to the hotel we went into a stall but because we were tired we went to sleep.

I always sit up front because of the smell in that bus its so disgusing  it smell like the blue soap you put in toilet bowl
this being said sleeping in a bus is not comfortable.

I woke up and realised we had not moved one.inch.

This was pecular as I am aware of the surrounding this was not right.
I started to look at the chauffeur who was looking at his cellphone.
No wonder he is not moving in the other lane it seems fine buses trucks cars were going full speed.

I was a bit furious so I knock at the window to tell him to take another lane.

He than got up and show me his cellphone with picture of the road being completely submerge by water further up the road.
I right away got up to show the picture to the captain.

The portuguesse flight attendant came to the front to investigate
I woke up everyone but hey
I have 3 days lay over here I do not want to spend it in a bus.
He explained the water on the left was just a little creek and it look like the amazone river and in the right it was the same and on the side its not usualy before another 30 minutes that we see water so it was criuical.
Thi doesnt sound good at all and the road ahead of us was immerged.

Hours goes by
I decide to call my brother using the drivers phone mine was out shit!
perhaps we could stay the night at his grand father in law country house.
He just started to laugh and said he will tried if worst come to worst  this could be one option
But unfortunately
the captain insisted to stay right there and the driver will take us there.

Hours goes by we had not move we are exhausted hungry and thirsty the water on each side is going up covering large parts of the side road and the driver had  to stay in that line.

He was  saying its against the law for him to use other line but there are many buses going on the left side and this is an emergency situation take it
No.

The driver went out to smoke a cigarette and I went out to buy what ever they were selling on the street for food. Luckily they were sugar pop cereal kind of to eat.

The 3 pilots, the supervisor manager that was with us on our flight that day didnt seem to know the emergency of the problem the severity in being stuck in the middle of a road in sao paulo Brazil  the most dangerous city in the world.

no they are not met to be in power these people and.certainly in control of an airplane.

Really hours went by,  they were sleeping instead of figuring a plan B or even calling home base.

Imagine if we had crash the plane
It would have taken him 8 hours to fucking react!

8 hours to be exact before the pilot said something:

The most stupid thing ever actualy

listen up we are going to go back to the airport.

SAY WHAT?

Am I hearing this stupid order

What an idiot really!

We are 6 lanes  large stuck in traffic  here no exists and for sure no hotel waiting for us either

8 hours is a bit too late to do that imbecile
Mamamia imagine he is in control of a plane

Imagine it took them 2 hours after

To get thru our
airline company
hotel managers
bus managers
to finally find an hotel for us as it was no where possible for us to go down town Sao Paulo.

I figure it out after a couple of hours it took them 8 hours!

Putting our lives in danger!

I even call my brother for the third time o get hold of the canadian embassy and ask them to do something.

To push the auhorities to pressure then to fi the poblem.
People were leaving their cars, walking away...on rhe side of the road.
From where we were we had seen no city employees no pumping company fixing up this problem at all. Not even police telling us wat was going on.

We had to hurry up before darkness and escape from thiefs burglars and major water flood.

The problem with the company was right at the start they knew what was going in as the other crew had taken taxis to go to the airport and that the water flood was in effect the night before.

Now the bus driver was taking care of our security and we could not go anywhere in Sao Paulo, the bus was too big to go on dirt roads or thru favelas would have risk our lifes it was something even worst the company didnt want to spend much money either on us we pass 3 beautiful hotels in our way to this tiny resort.

2 hours drive from this ordeal.

We did have to go thru a part of the favela as well. We did spend 10 hours in the bus.

We arrived at the resort we had to wait 1 hour and a half to eat as the restaurant was not prepared to received us. The place was very humid and smelly but it sure beat the bus.
Strange enough the base manager was jere at the hotel waiting for us why? Does he know people in this hotel?
Whatever
I watch the news and there were mud slide  everywhere.

The next morning, I tried t get in contact with the canadian embassy in Brazil with their twitter adress no one answered my questions.
Useless!
We are in Catibia we have to go back to sao paulo this morning how safe is it with mud slide situation as we are in a mountain area....

We left the next day at 11 oclock it took us another 2 hours bus ride to go back to our original hotel.
We went thru mud slide but we managed not to be hit by those big rocks coming down.

The pictures I took are on my mom cellphone unfortunately maybe one day I will show it to you.

My new phone takes a big model of micro chip to bad

This water flood was deadly.
Trying ti put picture from my.mom cell to mine ti gallery but niw 1 by one it sucks but at least you will see i did my best with all the battery I had on my cell

Its really gorgeous this side of Brazil mountains flowers luxurious vegetationThe next day our departure was plan for 11 oclock so I walk around the Eldorado poussada admiring exotic flowers and scenary I guess if it was sunny it would have been great but I must say the bed was hard like a ciment block no fun after 10 hours in a bus we definetely needed a good night sleep
No kidding

Happy to go back down town and sleep in a comfortable bed.
The line up was quite long and risky still
Back in the city the water level had completely gone down
Local market in tuesday in itam bibi I had a chance to eat pastel o carne é quéjo perfect fast food
And the life goes on ....
I soend the day around the hotel area went for sushi
The next dayvI went to the market municipal
With a colleague but thos time I wanted to buy fruits and the vendir was sellin for 6 maracuha 6 stars and 6 mini maracuha
589 reais
Divided by 3
I told him to foff
but since I tasted some I boufht the small maracuga for 20.00 reis know crazy but hey
They have guns in that market
You have to come back alive
Aftewards I went to have lunch with my brothers family and we had moquecau very good dish and came back to the hotel.
