Airline travel safe flying governements need to act

     AIRLINE SAFE FLYING                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            COVID IS HERE TO STAY FOR A WHILE. its time to change our traveling habits to a more secure and safe environment for crew and passengers. On an average 500,000 passengers are in the air at the same time. 6 million flies every day, adding trains and cruise ships...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Forget comparison with the Spanish flu, please. We are talking about a totally new ball game.                                                                                                                                                                                     If you can afford an airline ticket, cruise...you can afford to protect yourself and get us protected as well.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     As a flight attendant, I believe the solution to get our crew and passengers safe while flying in 2020 with new virus is to implement regulations as soon as possible. It has been 6 months and nothing has been done to protect us.                                                                                                                                                 It took 3 months to get the wear of a mask, gloves and a little cover to protect us but its not enough. We should wear it before we board the flight.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Every passenger over 12 years old, traveling by air, ship or train on an international destination, will need a health passport with all immunization requirements:                                                                  poliomyelite yellow fever,                                                                                                                                                      poliotuberculosis,                                                                                                                                     measles,                                                                                                                                              hepatite A,                                                                                                                                                hepatite B,                                                                                                                                             influenza,                                                                                                                                      meningococcal,                                                                                                                                        typhoid,                                                                                                                                            Japanese encephalitis,                                                                                                                   European encephalitis,                                                                                                                  cholera,                                                                                                                                               rabies.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        As well a as proof of negative COVID test                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   A medical note saying the passenger is fit to fly 48 hours prior to boarding an international flight                                                                                                                                                                             A mask                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Temperature check at the counter.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        In order to protect crew who are risking their lives to bring you from point A to point B healthy and safe. Only cellphones laptops and baby supply can be boarded as we know viruses can stick to surfaces. We need to limit the propagation of any virus and upcoming virus so we can travel like before.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 We encourage people to wear a hazmat suit as well; some passengers already do it. The wear of a mask will be mandatory all through the flight.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Eating time will be limited to a certain time only, except for medical reasons such as diabetic or glycemic issues mention in the medical letter. As people tend to pretext they are eating so they can have their mask off all thru the flight this is why we need to sign the petition we can not just rely on the mask and passengers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Also, those who can not wear a mask for medical reasons will wear an armband given by their pharmacist with a letter indicating their medical reason not to wear a mask. ( like asthmatic people, cardiac, autism...) This will provide fairness for everyone. They will know why you dont wear a mask. As a member of a civilized society, we need to respect people and not risk their life.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           We all want our vacation back, to be able to see our family or to do business.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Many crew members on cruise ships, train and plane were sick and kept on working putting people at risk, many passengers left before the pandemic happened, over 6 million of them had already reached their destination before we knew there was a deadly virus contaminating: security people, customs agents, ground agent, crew members bus driver taxi drivers, hotel staff and family.  People die. And, we, crew members kept on working risking our lives to bring you where you wanted to be; to have fun and party while we risk our life while working.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        All we ask you to do is to be a responsible traveler.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              When you go to Africa for example, you dont take a chance you get your shots, you take your malaria pills well, now, anywhere you will go, you will be at risk.

The economy will thank you too.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        I have been sending this message everywhere but I need your help. I have been back to work for 2 months now with very little passengers on board and fell sick.  

Why? 

Because people don't listen.

Crew members work in a tiny space in the back of the plane or the front, they eat their meal next to the washroom, there could be 8 of them in a small galley eating their meal spreading their germs to one another and on to you: the passengers. 

They sit in front of the washroom and see many passengers not washing their hands even in a time of COVID.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     On a long haul, they have to sleep close to one another without any distance in between. It is very difficult to stay healthy in this job and even with a light load of passengers; I got sick. I was the first one in my company to ask for protective equipment. It took 3 months to get it. I wear my mask all the time the overall,  the gloves wash my hands but if I share the same bathroom and pass by next to you while you eat ...I am at risk.

In the hotel, there was no hot water so I could not even wash, yes, in Paris Novotel hotel. maybe it's there.

I spend the return flight gasping for air. I was breathing half the way for more then 7 hours and a half.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           And then I got home and called an ambulance. It got worse.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      It could have been at the airport when the customs agent took my passport without cleaning it after, in the bus, at the hotel, crew members removing his or her mask in the bus, when I went around the hotel for a walk-in Germany or in Paris or even when I had breakfast or at the grocery store...

Who knows but I got sick. 

I am at home waiting for the result.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Crew members kept on flying over and over during the pandemic and no one asked us to quarantine ourselves after a flight. We were essential services bringing you back home to your country risking our lives and no one dares to check how healthy we are.  No one checked our temperature or randomly tested us for COVID imagine.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Its time for us to be safe and for passengers to be clear to fly.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  When I see that passengers of an airline company on Asia complaining about not seeing the flight attendant mouth we definitely need to revise our traveling procedures and accept only responsible travelers as it put our lives at risk and the life of others: passengers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Thank you merci xiéixié gracias muchas gracias obrigada danke take kiitos dankie shoukran ta, do heh, afharisto, today, salamat, arigato, dziekuke, spassibo, asante, ka wkunkrap, kwala....tshinaskumitin                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  06-29-2020                                                                                                                                                 Up date :                                                                                                                                               Pass the Covid test I tested negative I spend days away from my mom and my sister. I pass a lung test still waiting fo the result.
