Japan
Lay over
24 hours
Narita
nice little village to visit
and 30 minutes not far from the airport
15 minutes to get to the village
bus is free it connects to other hotels that I would perhaps go to...
but....
Hilton hotel there is horrible HUmidifier in the room no fresh air carpet in the room
ooh it gives you the chill and makes you sick with sinus problem brrr but
Narita village
worth the visit.
I was looking for dinner
sushi
of course
weather was not with me
I saw a few boutique
and yes
I found what I wanted
YUKATA !
EUREKA!
its that hard to find a yukata
in cotton
not in silk can not afford it
and of course not in polyester where you sweat in
So I got in that tiny boutique
where it says
crew discount
yes !
perfect !
I need one for my mom of course
my favorite babysitter
checking on my dog
and one for me
to remember my time in Japan
talk to this lovely lady
who hardly speak english
perfect
when i got out it started to rain
pouring rain
and guess what
just beside a sushi place
perfect
strange place
to tell you the truth
I found there aren't too many young men in sushi place
they are always old man
so the sushi is not quite perfect
I order strange thing
and a tiny saké to warm me up
but luckily
i order tuna
and never never never never order spicy tuna in that shop
too spicy
so after this I went to the hotel
asia jet lag ...
but the room
so humid so filty
old air
the next morning I decided to go find this street I was looking for
the one I saw with all the little shop
it was in fact the street I bought my yukata
but because of the rain I stop walking to finally get there
to the beautiful temple area
big one small one there are a few on the site
so peaceful when there aren't anyone around
people should go there in silence but
I guess
japanese little kids just like chinese do what they want ...running around and yelling ....
a complete different mentality on how to raise a child
but
I manage to be in peace with myself think of all the terrible things that happen to me
listen to this man humming
than saw beautiful temple
and got to see my first celebration
arrive kind of late but
the drums the fire the colorful monk yukata not sure if you call that yukata
woa
and I bought another one for my friend's birthday gift
ate gyoza
and waited for the bus
slept a little bit
eat tiny mini square sandwich and went back to montreal
I heard the gin in Japan is excellent
so I thin my uncle will be very happy
perfect its a sunny its very early so its very peaceful to start the day
it does say hot dog wonder what it means in japanese
pour la longevité
I love old Japanese drawings
I went to the celebration in the temple I was a bit late but it was amazing the fire the drums for all the times i go to temples I never assisted at a celebration it was awesome. Afterwards while I was putting my shoe back I saw the monks Sohei leaving the vibrant colors of their monksuke was so different I was rushing to get close to them to take a picture....
ceiling inside the shops
one girl learning with the master in front of many photographers
the eel master cutter
than they put it on a broche and grill them for lunch or dinner
is that humongous sea cucumber not sure
many more eel cutters wearing Canadian crocs. Apparently it is the village to eat eels they are very famous around here.
hum interesting
little bells charm
Japanese medecine
typical little restaurant I had gyoza here wanted the ramen but by the time i got there it was too hot to eat
they love their ramen
gyoza
Japanese ladies fashion
yukata for my mom made in Japan
yukata for my friend
yukata for me too not cheap but its not every day you celebrate your birthday and change dozens
this security at the airport makes gives me the chill trust me this was made so poorly its to doubt about your safety on board...
It was a very interesting day at the site of the temples I could have gone further up but it was my first time investigating in this area with the bus and all I had to go back to the hotel and sleep a little bit right!
I was hungry by the time i arrive a t the hotel bought mini tiny sandwich for my wake up before going to work.
I bought a nice bottle of gin at the airport as well Whisky gin and Yukata are a sure thing to bring back.
Hope you enjoy you quick visit to Japan
Sayonara!
