woa
left on time
arrived on time
didnt wait for bus
marvellous
arrived at hotel
didnt wait for room
just perfect!
didnt slept much but who cares
Im in Rome again!
This time, I had a misson: to find my dad a piece of marble to put at his place at the cemitary
seriously ...but never made it to the shop where the man can engrave what you want on a piece of marble, white marble, my dad used to have a white marble quarry that would have been perfect.
However this being said, I am going back there and found 2 shops that does work on marble, so I will search them on internet and see how it goes.
Marboro and another shop close to the Pantheon that also have the art shop further up the road from it
interesting but when I arrived at piazza di popolo, I realized I got out too early the sun was killing me.
So decided to go up the stairs and visit the Borghese garden instead in the shade while the sun relax a little bit with his explosive burning rays of sunshine.
the stairs
slippery and curvy so be careful.
when you arrived at the top the view is nice
when you walked around its nice you imagine in the old days..,
before it used to be army ground then rich and famous play ground...
but I was not impress with what I saw so sad to see it and cut short of my visit
statues were damage
strange people in the park
not much security there for single women
so didnt made it to the lake perhaps I will go with someone to try to see it but I didnt feel safe here at all. You need to rent a bike or some kart its too big. And did not want to spend the day in those famous museum that I couldnt find either.
Where were day it was not well indicated...
Too much to walk for very little to see at this point so.
I was sad. I was really looking forward for this visit.
From everything I red this was not it perhaps entering the garden from la piazza di popolo is not the way to do it and all alone either maybe I will try it with someone and enter this area by another way because here there was nothing to see no museum no fountain no lake nothing.
Keep you posted on this one.
However this being said, I continued my journey from the top of the mountain towards the spanish stairs and so on, visiting one church, after another with a great view of Rome from the top.
I visted the churches not so much for religion sake but to appreciate the architecture the art pieces and so on...
I started to ask myself some questions and realised I dont believe in religion like this
too much money spend in luxurious items guarded by security, people, fences
so no one can get close; no.
I believe there is a god and he didnt need all that richness around him.
I definetely prefer mere teresa work than pope and priest work
who are hidding in their church behind gold doors....
but when you are in Rome
you know
pope power versus emperor power
one used slaves
and one used innocents believers money to built their kingdom
what ever
so many questions so many without answers
but I can appreciate the churches as much as a visit to the museum
and do my own prayers...
Anyway, I was supposed to go down at the spanish steps to look for the marble shop but decided since Im coming back 4 more times in Rome to do otherwise.
So I decided to stay up the hill and walk all the way to look for the Monti district.
I walked all the way to Calvour street where there are 2 more churches to visit but ws too tired at this point so i turn around went to the grocery to get some creme di pistachio woa what a difference in price instead of 8.99 euros i paid 3.99 what a difference grab 4 pots and walked down towards Monti where all little mini cafes and bars are full of people having a drink. Great area just behind the coliseum I madde my way back to the hotel.
Finally went inside a shop to buy my sister a bag, got some coffee at Tazza d Oro that was open again vacation time was over for the merchant now. And I ended it up having dinner around the Pantheon.
At Fortunato I had a great meal, great waiter very patient with me and had a great plate of tasty lingini vongole cook perfectly and a great glass of Barbaresco watching the Pantheon trying to find the defects of the columns, trying to find a clue of who did it....
Grab a gelato on the way back and walk my way to the hotel. Stop by to get some vino to bring back home.
Come along for a walk.
Window shopping is always nice great little shop
of course if i had my camera this building in the back would have been wonderful to look at
i just hate taking picture with cell phone buttom line Im stuck with it, no money, no candy.
Bottom line no plan is fun too in Rome had a reat dinner at fortunato gelato for the road and back to my room!
Got a nice souvenir for my sister a nice purple bag from Italy!
Picked up some crema di pistachio, coffee at tazzo d oro and some red wine.
i have to tell you bibite in french means bugs
this was nice but no access to it
I always take the street signs in case I get lost and to draw on my map the route i did that particular day.
a lot of the statues has been dammage
we have replace the roman chariot for this hum
to see the ceiling i had to put my camera pass the fence dont know why they fence everything inside
museum palazzio...
